A person who is familiar with the situation stated on Saturday that the Defense Ministry intends to establish guidelines for defense technologies that the nation will prioritize for development. Among these technologies are innovations in miniaturized robotic technology.
In an effort to counter Chinese and Russian state-of-the-art weaponry, the guidelines are designed to encourage increased cooperation among government agencies, businesses, and research institutions to develop key defense technologies over the next ten years.
According to the source, the proposed guidelines for defense technology will promise to “think outside the box,” “push the boundaries,” and “pursue new capabilities.”
Technologies like insect-sized robots, electromagnetic barriers, and the ability to use large datasets to make better strategic predictions are among the 12 areas the ministry will concentrate on.
Special materials that are capable of regenerating after being damaged will also be recommended by the guidelines for the development of technology that makes use of unconventional methods of energy production.
According to the source, the guidelines will also call for increased collaboration with startups and universities in addition to the country’s defense industry.
